Golin will handle internal and external communications for pharma company Roche in Hong Kong and Macau.

HONG KONG — Roche has consolidated public relations duties with Golin for ,

, extending the IPG firm’s relationship with the pharma giant beyond the US, UK and mainland China.

The corporate reputation business is taken on by Golin after Roche previously worked with sister IPG firm DNA Medical for pharma and medical education support, including Roche’s award-winning Cuupcakes campaign in Hong Kong.

Golin initially supported Roche through an internal transformation, providing strategic guidance on change communications and employee engagement.

That scope has now broadened to external communications, including strategic planning, thought leadership and media relations, to further help the healthcare company to position itself as a scientific innovation leader, a provider of life-saving and life-improving medicines, and an incubator for healthcare business in Hong Kong.

“Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the healthcare industry has had to undergo rapid change,” said Jane Morgan, MD at Golin Hong Kong. “We’ve seen incredible advancements already this year in areas such as big data, personalised healthcare, and innovative technology. Whether it be individuals, governments or companies, people worldwide are turning their attention to the importance of health. In a time where care is more vital than ever, we couldn’t be more proud and more ready to support Roche in the extraordinary work they’re doing for patients across the globe.”

The Roche partnership comes after Golin Hong Kong’s launched its health and wellness practice last year.

“As the world works together to cope with the long-lasting effects of COVID-19, Roche stands ready to contribute to the process of creating innovations for a healthier future,” said Daniel Thurley, GM of Roche Hong Kong and Macau. “Here at Roche, our purpose is centred around doing now what patients need next, and so in order for us to make this a reality and not just a statement, we need the right communications partner. Golin has already demonstrated tremendous support to Roche and we look forward to deepening the partnership as we continue to advance science to deliver better outcomes for more patients faster.”
